Prayer of Reconciliation

Father most Holy, it is Your will that by the Passion, Death and Resurrection of Your Son, Our Lord Jesus Christ, all Your children be reconciled to You, and to one another. Our day-to-day failings interfere with Your plan of love, and so we ask Your forgiveness.

Give us a share in Your Work of unifying and building up the Church. We ask that You give us the grace, from this day forward, to follow You and to love You with hearts renewed.

That we may cooperate in the Mystery of Redemption along the way of Calvary:

R: We wish to follow You, Lord.

That, together with the Blessed Virgin Mary, Saint John, and Saint Mary Magdalene at the foot of the Cross, we may share in the intimate suffering of Your wounded Heart:

R: We wish to follow You, Lord.

That the message of salvation be announced everywhere:

R: We wish to follow You, Lord.

In union with all our brothers and sisters on their way toward You:

R: We wish to follow You, Lord.

And that all those who have strayed from Your Love be reunited in it:

R: We wish to follow You, Lord.

Let us pray

Lord Jesus, Who gave Yourself up completely for us and have given us Your Body and Your Blood, make us attentive to Your merciful Love and to Your Eucharistic Presence. Unite us to Your designs for the salvation of the whole world, hour after hour, our whole life long. Grant that, in keeping with Your wishes, we be gathered one day in You in the great glory and joy of Heaven. Amen.

Prayer of Consecration

Father of lights, from Whom descends every perfect gift, it has pleased You, “in Your wisdom and in Your kindness,” to reveal Yourself to the world through Your Only-Begotten Son, Our Lord Jesus Christ.

Eternal Word, sent from the Father, You who enlighten everyone so as to “tear them from the darkness of sin and raise them to eternal life,” we come to place ourselves in the rays of Your light.

And, since You have wished to show us Your Heart as the living symbol of the Everlasting Love which loves each one of us, teach us how to enter into its contemplation.

At Calvary, You allowed streams of living water to spring forth from Your side, pierced by the lance. With great joy and thanksgiving, we come to draw our salvation from this life-giving Source.

Savior Jesus, to contemplate Love is not enough for us; we wish also to place ourselves at its service, as we learn from You that we also must “give our lives for our brothers and sisters.”

To this end, we ask You to consecrate all our activities, our sufferings, our prayers, as if they were “spiritual hosts” united to the Host consecrated on the altar in memory of You. Allow that, united in this way to Your most pure, holy and unblemished offering, we may share in Your work of Redemption. Grant that having lived in one faith and in one hope that all peoples may one day proclaim in one voice:

“For the Kingdom, the Power and the Glory are Yours now and for ever. Amen!”

Prayer of Reparation

Jesus, Divine Savior, we ask You to cast a merciful glance upon us, Your Guards of Honor, united in faith, reparation, and love. We place ourselves at Your feet with deep remorse for our own failings and those of our brothers and sisters.

For the way we have neglected Your Holy Name,

We wish to make reparation, Lord.

For the sacrileges and blasphemies of Your enemies,

We wish to make reparation, Lord.

For the disdain of Your holy laws and our failure to keep Sunday holy,

We wish to make reparation, Lord.

For neglecting Your Holy Tabernacle,

We wish to make reparation, Lord.

For the irreverence and indifference of those who approach Your altars,

We wish to make reparation, Lord.

For the way we resist the promptings of Your grace,

We wish to make reparation, Lord.

For the way we disobey Our Holy Mother, the Church,

We wish to make reparation, Lord.

For the carelessness, the coldness, and the ingratitude of Your children,

We wish to make reparation, Lord.

Lord Jesus, in order that we may cooperate in the building-up of Your Kingdom, grant that, in answer to the supreme desire of Your Heart, we may one day be consecrated in Unity, in this way bringing to completion the work of Your glory and our salvation. Amen.

Chaplet of the Sacred Heart of Jesus

On the cross of the Rosary Beads recite:

"O Jesus give us Your heart as a Pledge of Your Love and as a place of refuge that we may find there a secure repose during our life and sweet comfort at the hour of our death."

On the small bead (a) of the Rosary recite:

Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. Forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us. Save us from the time of trial and deliver us from evil. For the kingdom, the power, and the glory are yours now and for ever. Amen.

On the small beads (a1 - a3) of the Rosary recite:

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee; blessed art thou amongst women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

On the large beads (b) of the Rosary recite:

I believe in God, the Father Almighty, Creator of heaven and earth; and in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord: Who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary; suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died and was buried. He descended into hell; the third day He rose again from the dead; He ascended into heaven, is seated at the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence He shall come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Holy Catholic Church, the communion of Saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting. Amen.

On the small beads (1, 2, 3, 4, 5) of the Rosary recite:

"O Sacred Heart of Jesus burning with love of us inflame our hearts with love of You."

On the large beads (c, d, e, f) of the Rosary recite:

"Thee I adore, praise and love O Sacred Heart of my dear Jesus, penetrated with grief at the thought of so many offenses which have been committed against You in the most holy sacrament of the altar, I offer to You in satisfaction the amiable heart of Your Most Beloved Mother with the merits of the saints. Amen."

End the prayer with “May the Sacred Heart of Jesus, in the Most Holy Sacrament be blessed, adored and loved, with grateful affection, at every moment, in all the tabernacles of the world, even to the end of time. Amen”

Prayer in Times of Trial

Father, I ask of You what is for me the hardest thing to do: give me the grace to see the Cross of Your Son in all the suffering of my life, the grace to worship Your holy and unfathomable will in this Cross, the grace to follow Your Son all along the Way of the Cross, for as long as it may please You.

Grant that I be concerned for Your honor, and not only for my wellbeing; then I will be able to carry my cross in atonement for my sins.

Do not let me grow bitter in my sufferings, but rather allow them to help me mature in patience, generosity, kindness, and the ardent desire one day to dwell there where there will be no more suffering. Then You will wipe away the tears of those who love You, and who in their pain, believed in Your love and Your light, even in the darkest of nights.

Father, we wish to share in all things with Your Son: in His life, His divine glory, therefore also in His suffering and death. But give us, along with the cross, the strength to carry it; give us the ability to see in this cross the blessing that it is; send us the cross that will best contribute toward our salvation, according to Your wisdom.

Christ Jesus, Son of the Father, live in us, pray in us, suffer in us. We ask for nothing else because in possessing You we are wealthy enough. Amen.
